A couple of seasons ago, fellow TU member Joe Dermont asked me to tie him some flies of this pattern. I’d never seen this pattern before so I asked him its name. He told me he didn’t know the name or its origin. I asked him when he used it and he told me he used it all season long. It looked like an interesting pattern so I tied up several for myself as well. Since there was no official name I called it Joe’s Mayfly.
